Important Announcement about 2019-2020 Summer Internship

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the department students who have compulsory internship courses in their curriculums will be able to complete their internships under the following conditions (limited to 2019-2020 academic year only):

Students that are about to graduate
  1. Students in this situation can do internships in the workplaces by taking protective measures. They can also complete their internships partially or entirely in digital environment.
  2. In case these students can not find an internship workplace, our department will offer these students an internship course in the summer school and assign them projects, homeworks, etc.
  3. These students are required to fill the form at https://forms.gle/Avjj3WwHfkgtc5Tk7.

Other students
  1. Students in this situation can do internships in the workplaces by taking protective measures. They can also complete their internships partially or entirely in digital environment.

Internship Informational Meetings

Two informative meetings were held on the Zoom platform on June 18, 2020 and June 26, 2020 for our students who will do their CENG200 and CENG300 summer internships in the 2019 - 2020 summer period. The video recordings of these meetings can be accessed on our department internship website.

Internship Report Delivery

After completing your internship, you must deliver the following documents to the department:

  1. Printed and spiralled internship report,
  2. An envelope closed and signed by your chief in company,
  3. Unemployment Fund Contribution Information Form and receipts (if the company made payment and requests contribution from government)

Along with these, you must also upload your report (without Evaluation and Grading extras mentioned below) to webonline.cankaya.edu.tr in .docx and .pdf formats.

You must deliver your internship reports by hand. The contents of the report are as follows:

  1. A report written according to the rules and examples presented in internship web page,
  2. The "Internee Self Evaluation Form" that is filled by you,
  3. The "Grading Criteria and Form" in which only the top part is filled by you and the rest is left blank.

Your chief engineer at the company must deliver the complete "Internship Evaluation Form and Journal" document back to you in a closed and signed envelope. If you have completed an online internship or unable to deliver the envelope by hand; the company can send this envelope either to the department via postal mail or to Inst. Efe ÇİFCİ via e-mail in .pdf format.

Due date for completing the above operations is Oct 14, 2020 at 5:00pm. Late deliveries will not be accepted and the internship will be evaluated as failed.

Report Revision

After evaluation, the internship reports may be deemed as inadequate and returned back to the students. A further notice regarding report revisions will be announced later. Students who encounter this situation are required to contact our faculty member who had evaluated the report face-to-face or remotely, to find out what problems are available in the report they have previously submitted and to submit a corrected new internship report back to the faculty member until Nov 30, 2020.
